User Device Overview

Device Overview

A Device represents a SIP User Agent that a SIP UA can register to, and be managed by, the NetSapiens system. Once you have created a Subscriber, you can create a Device. Once a Device is created, the system will allow a SIP UA to register via SIP authentication using the credentials provided. The default configuration is one Device for each Subscriber, and the Device is usually named as :
sip:<Owner’s Extension>@<Owner’s Domain>

📘

Multiple Device Naming Schema

Due to our general call routing rules, If more than 1 device is needed for a subscriber we recommend the device be named:

sip:<Owner's Extension>[a-z]@<Owner's Domain>

We cannot guarantee call completion if another naming schema is used.
